What is JavaScript?

JavaScript is a scripting language that runs in your browser. It allows us to provide you with a more interactive experience, and if disabled, the content of our pages will not be available. Here you can find instructions on how to enable JavaScript in the most common browsers. If you are still in doubt about any of this, please don't hesitate to contact us directly, instead.

Select your browser

To read the instructions for how to enable JavaScript, first find your browser in the list below. If you don't find the browser below, please use your favourite search website to find help.

Internet Explorer

  1. On the web browser menu, click Tools or the "Tools" icon (which looks like a gear), and select Internet Options.
  2. When the "Internet Options" window opens, select the Security tab.
  3. On the "Security" tab, make sure the Internet zone is selected, and then click on the "Custom level..." button.
  4. In the Security Settings – Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
  5. When the "Warning!" window opens and asks, "Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?" select Yes.
  6. Click OK at the bottom of the Internet Options window to close the dialog.
  7. Click the Refresh button to refresh the page and run scripts.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge currently always supports JavaScript. If you're seeing an error message that JavaScript is disabled, please contact your administrator.


Google Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. On the "Settings" page, click the Show advanced settings... link.
  4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings...
  5. Select Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) in the "JavaScript" section.
  6. Click Finished.
  7. Click the Refresh button to refresh the page and run scripts.

Mozilla Firefox

By default, Mozilla Firefox will always work with JavaScript. If you're seeing an error message that JavaScript is disabled, please use your favourite search engine to figure out how to enable it.


Opera

  1. Click the Opera menu icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose the Websites sub-menu item.
  4. Select Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) in the "JavaScript" section.
  5. Click Finished.
  6. Click the Refresh button to refresh the page and run scripts.

Apple Safari

  1. In the menu bar, click on "Edit" and then "Preferences".
  2. Select the "Security" tab in the Preferences window.
  3. Mark the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox in the Web Content section.
  4. Close the Preferences window, then click the Reload Page button to refresh the page and run scripts.
